“I am on a curiosity voyage. I need my paddles to travel.” – Dustin Henderson, “Stranger Things,” season two.
“Stranger Things,” in all of its strangeness, has been sweeping through Spring Hill’s campus this fall season. Whether it's people obsessing over it, people complaining that they don’t have enough time to watch the new season, or teachers assigning it for class, it has been a very popular topic.

Season two of the Netflix hit show took us by surprise when the supernatural world passed over into the paranormal, adding possession to its list of strange things. However, just because the possession was over, doesn’t mean the monster was defeated.
Apparently watching the second season once wasn’t enough for Junior Alyssa Miles. “I’m excited to watch season two, again,” she says. “It’s one of my favorite shows now. I started watching [it] for scriptwriting class. I had no idea what it was or what it was about before then.”
Professor Ryan Noble assigned the first season of Stranger Things to his Scriptwriting Class to watch so that students could see a good example of what a serial television show is; which is a television show where each episode relies or flows from the episode before.
Not everyone was assigned the popular television show when they first started watching it. Freshman Laura Krall started watching it because a lot of her friends were watching it. Those same friends persuaded her to watch the sci-fi series, insisting that she would love it.
“What I love about the show is it’s very chilling and always keeps me interested,” she said. “I love scary shows and this one definitely has that thrilling factor. From the start with [the kids] playing their game with the demagorgan to it actually being a realistic.” Krall said that she, also, loves that in season two, you get to learn more about the character, “Eleven.”
Not everyone is caught up on the television show, though. “I just haven’t had the time this semester, unfortunately,” said sophomore Chase Brouillette. While it’s not his favorite television show, it is “up there,” he said. “I like the retro feel of [the show]. There is no predicting it.”
Miles is accepting that challenge. When asked if she had any predictions for the coming season, she said, “I want to see if Hopper and Joyce get together. I am cheering for those two.”
According to some media accounts, season 3 of the show might begin streaming on Netflix until 2019.
