The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) announced today that it has reaffirmed Spring Hill College’s accreditation and removed the College from probation after determining the school has demonstrated a recent history of financial stability as required by Comprehensive Standard CS3.10.1

The announcement was formally made during the SACSCOC annual meeting in Dallas. President Christopher P. Puto, Ph.D., noted that one of the SACSCOC’s key roles was to assure the public of the high quality education offered by each of their accredited schools. “I am completely pleased with the outcome of the Committee on Compliance and Reports’ recommendation and the SACSCOC Board of Trustees’ decision, and I am excited to usher the College into our third century with the path clearly paved. Most importantly, throughout this entire process, at no time was our ability to deliver the highest quality Jesuit, Catholic educational experience to our students in any way impaired or disrupted.”

In his December 2016 letter to the Spring Hill College community, Puto stated, “Our continued success with our enrollment and the implementation of our strategic plan will allow Spring Hill to demonstrate a longer and sustained history of financial stability.” To this, he added today, “It took many prayers and much hard work by everyone, but we have succeeded, and the future of our beloved College is now completely in our own hands.”
