Statement of Solidarity with Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities
Spring Hill College stands in solidarity with Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander communities following the shooting of eight people that lost their lives, including six Asian-American women.
Though the motivations and details of this event on March 16th are still being investigated, the effect that it has had on the Asian-American community and the United States is widespread. This attack is the sixth mass shooting in the United States this year and the deadliest since 2019. Though shootings have slowed down during the pandemic, they are still quite frequent and have caused many to fear for their lives.
