Spring Break Destinations Offer Adventure, Entertainment and Rest

This year, thousands of college students will flock to beaches, mountain resorts and other vacation hot spots for spring break. At SHC, spring break is combined with Easter and begins on March 26.

With so many people traveling to various destinations, it lends the question, where is the best place to spend your holiday? Whether you’re looking for sunny skies and clear water or steep slopes and powder, here’s a list of the top 10 vacation spots based on student opinion:

  1. Cayman Islands: You can scuba dive with stingrays, sharks and other exotic fish as well as watch dolphins

  2. Gatlinburg, Tennessee: This town is known for its hiking trails, exceptional breweries and Dollywood amusement park.

  3. Key West, The Florida Keys: These southern Florida islands are home to some of the best deep sea fishing in the world

  4. Park City, Utah: If you’re an avid skier or just want to experience the snow, Park City offers a small town feel that tourists can easily navigate

  5. Pensacola, Florida: You can visit the beach and work on your tan as well as go on a surfing or fishing charter. The city is also offers one of the best Naval bases and museums in the country.

  6. New York City: If you’re looking for a vibrant and busy city to explore, then this metropolis is the place for you. Tourists can visit the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and Ellis Island.

  7. Taos, New Mexico: This small ski town is nestled in the Sangre de Cristo mountains giving it picturesque views.

  8. Las Vegas: Despite popular opinion about this only being a gambling town, people can experience the outdoors through desert rock climbing and hiking. The Grand Canyon is also located close by.

  9. Lake Tahoe, California: This mountain town offers more than just the snow, tourists can go sailing or canoeing on the Lake as well as explore their national parks.

  10. Austin, Texas: This city has a laid back vibe that offers hiking trails, fun music festivals and river kayaking
